Actor Suriya expressed his happiness over the massive success of Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. The superhero film has created history by becoming the first-ever ₹200 crore grosser in Suriya’s career, marking a career-defining moment for the acclaimed actor.
The film has received unanimous love from audiences worldwide, with houseful boards reported across theaters. From children to elderly moviegoers, Karuppu has struck a chord with viewers across all demographics, delivering the kind of response Suriya says he hasn’t seen in recent years.
Behind the Climax Song
Speaking about the film’s journey, Suriya revealed that the team shot the climax song nearly five months after the final edit was locked. He appreciated the makers for going the extra mile despite financial challenges.
“We shot that climax song five months after locking the edit. They could have dropped the idea because of the financial situation, but they decided to do everything possible for the film. Seeing housefull board pictures from kids to elders makes me extremely happy,” said Suriya.
The film’s music has been another major highlight, with Simbu singing the opening song that added to Karuppu’s appeal.
Karuppu Success: Quick Decision
The actor also shared that Karuppu was one of the quickest decisions of his career, taking just 30 to 45 minutes to commit to the project.
“Karuppu was decided in just 30–45 minutes. I’ve never decided on a film that quickly in recent times. I’ve also never seen this kind of response for my film in recent years. The movie is receiving unanimous love worldwide. Thank you, everybody,” he added.
